How can I check for fake Pagerank

After seeing more and more available lists containing domains with fake pagerank (PR), I decided to make this post to help you spot and avoid domains with fake PR.

What is fake PR? Fake PR is achieved by using a 301 or 302 redirect to point one site to another site with a higher pagerank.

How can I check for fake PR? You can use the fake PR check tool here.

All you need to do is compare the URL you submitted to the results. If the domain name you entered has fake PR, the results will show a different domain name to the one you submitted.

Inconclusive results? If it returns “Sorry, we cant verify the pagerank for this page”, then Google is unable to determine whether the PR is fake or not.

If this is the case then you can use archive.org’s WayBack Machine to view old versions of a site to see whether or not a redirect was being used when the page was archived.

Archive.org If you use archive.org to view the site’s history and the address in the URL changes when you click to view a result, then the domain was being redirected on that date.http://web.archive.org/

Are the results 100% conclusive? There is a chance that the results are not correct.The fake PR checker uses Google results so if the domain’s redirect has been removed and the results are updated on Google, the fake PR checker won’t see the previous redirect. That won’t happen overnight though.

Archive.org has no recent archives, they’re usually at least a year old, so they won’t show the most recent redirects. Also there is a chance that the domain could have been used legitimately after it was archived, so don’t go back to results from 1999 and expect them to be relevant.

Used in combination though, they’re very good at helping you spot fake PR.

Fxxk Spammer,again

相对国内的一些邮件服务商来讲,Google的邮件系统是我用过同类服务里最好的,但在anti-spam显得有点力不从心,经常漏掉一些,我的Google邮箱基本上每天都会收到若干封垃圾邮件.

电话收到垃圾短讯已经不是什么新鲜事,主要是一些机票订购,发票代开,六合彩等等,但最近我经常收到中国移动的彩信,当然如果只是为了让我们及时了解最新的资讯,那么不应该算是骚扰,但如果一天收个七八条同样内容呢?上图是我用手机软件截出来的图.

还有一些想在搜索引擎上获得比较好的关键字排行,也是在疯狂的利用Spam bot向你的网站发送垃圾链接,当然我们可以用软件来防止.

Google AdSense优化建议与技巧

以下建议为Google AdSense中国优化团队提供,这些建议均基于AdSense几年来的经验和统计结果,具体到某一条并不一定适用于每一位发布商.各位发布商需要根据自己的实­际情况,不断测试和改进,以得出对自己最有效的优化方案.

1. 广告格式
在Google目前提供的11种文字广告格式和5种图片广告格式中,矩形广告(300*250,250*250,336*280)具有较好的展示效果;另两种效果较好的格式为728*90横幅和160*600摩天大楼.

2. 广告色彩
发布商可使用任意色彩代码来自定义广告元素配色方案,并不限于系统给出的60种色彩;将广告边框去除通常能取得良好效果;调整背景与字体颜色,将广告充分融入网页内容;了解网站浏览人群,大胆尝试,配色因站而异,没有定式.

3. 渠道跟踪
以”新闻页上方250*250矩形”等命名广告格式位置渠道;善于利用渠道功能,更快捷掌握不同广告格式在不同网站的效果,以便及时调整.

4. 广告位置
网站首页和频道主页:可根据页面情况在热点区域投放728*90横幅或160*600摩天大楼,网页宽度较大时,可平列两个468*60横幅;文本较多的网页:可根据页面尺寸和风格选择矩形、横幅或摩天大楼,通常将矩形嵌入文章效果较好;论坛类页面:放置在论坛顶部首个帖子内的广告具有较好效果,论坛底部的横幅广告也效果颇佳;投放量:每页至多可以投放3个广告单元,1个文字链接,1个搜索框和4个推荐按钮(每种产品各一个),建议在网站每个最终页投放1-2个广告单元.有针对性地投放推荐产品:在图片较多页面,尝试放置Picasa推荐;IT相关网站,尝试放置Firefox推荐;网络营销页面,尝试放置AdWords和AdSense推荐.

5. 广告过滤
利用Google AdSense竞争性广告过滤器,让竞争性与不相关广告网址(URL)不再出现;过滤广告过多,可能显示公益广告,因此不建议过度使用.

.com is the commercial extension. Typically, .com domains are worth the most.
.net used to be a “network” extension; however, it fits forums well and is used when the .com version of a domain isn’t available.
.org is the most ‘restricited’ of the top 3 TLD’s. By ‘restricted’, I mean that many .org names aren’t worth much at all unless they are obviously useable for a nonprofit organization. Recently, however, with many other TLD’s being taken, the value of a good .org has increased.
.biz is the business extension. Although not widely used, some businesses do have .biz domains. A commercial keyword ending with .biz can be quite valuble.
.us means .United States. Domains that would be usable to a United States reseller aiming its products at the U.S. market can be worth a good amount in .us.
.info domains are an intereted batch. .info domains can be registered for under $3; additionally, a premium .info domain is typically worth less than a premium .com or .net. There are exceptions; some buyers do indeed value .info’s over other domains because of factors such as universality.
