故事背景为往前追溯7年, 以神罗一级战士扎克斯为主角的动作RPG, 大概游戏情节是: 在五台的作战行动任务中发生了大量战士行踪不明的事件, 察觉到事态严重的神罗高层为了尽早结束战争并查明真相决定投入神罗战士进行调查. 因此, 扎克斯、安吉尔、萨菲罗斯一起被派遣至五台执行任务. 并调查杰内西斯失踪的真相是什么? 另FF7和FF7AC里的主角克劳德在本作中作为神罗的普通士兵登场, 与扎克斯在一起执行任务的时候成为朋友, 两个人的性格反差很大, 但被扎克斯所影响, 故事最后接过了扎克斯手中的斩铁剑和委托的梦想, 随后则在FF7 和FF7AC中成为了拯救世界的英雄. 人物关系比较复杂, 安吉儿把扎克斯带出来了, 克劳德是扎克斯带出来的, 扎克斯跟爱丽丝有一腿, 扎克斯死了以后, 克劳德又跟爱丽丝有一腿, 爱丽丝又因为克劳德挂了, 头晕ing…..

结局不好, 扎克斯居然被一群普通神罗兵给干掉了, 剧情必须这样…要不克劳德就当不了主角了….另外游戏画面也很不错, 汉化得也不错, 完全是神作啊, 推荐一下.
